Thanks for all who have prayed for Grandpa Parker. Here is what happened yesterday. He has pancreatic cancer a tumor on his pancreas that is 3x2 size (which is large) and spots on his liver and has entered the blood vessels (I think). It is a fast moving cancer. He is terminal. On a good day he could live for 6 months (the doctor said) but, he has given this diagnoses to others before and some have lived for 3 weeks or for a number of years. He will start chemo after the holidays to help control some of the cancer. After the chemo they will take a cell count to see how his body is responding they will try other things if he doesn't respond well but after they try those things and his body will not respond there will be nothing they can do. He was encouraged to eat, eat and eat. I think he has lost 4-6 lbs in the last month. He doesn't have a good appetite and his blood sugar can go so low that he gets real bad shakes. (He is not very vocal when this happens). So you can pray for more time to be able to visit, and that he will be comfortable and not in pain and that we all get to talk a lot before he goes to heaven.

Please pray
Today is the day Grandpa Parker is going to the doctor at 3:00 p.m. if you happen to come across this please pray for the following: That there will be a treatment worth taking for his cancer, pray that there could be a human error and he wouldn't have cancer, (somehow his primary care doctor didn't even have his results from the er) pray that his newest grandbaby would be able to have a relationship with his grandpa and have time to get to know each other. Pray that Malachi Bruce James Parker would be able to celebrate his 1st birthday with his grandpa Bruce James Parker and his birthday which is in January, too. Thank you so much for praying and Thank you Jesus that Malchi was named after his grandpa and thank you that Bruce Jr is going to the doctor with them. Pray for his wife Barbara that she would be able to handle everything or help us to find a way to help them. Thanks so much!

Calling all parents!
Okay thought I would ask all the parents. Yesterday we get a wonderful message from the High School the janitors found "bomb threat" written on the bathroom walls. They told us they did a check and found nothing. My questions to all the parents do you send you kids to school? I know most of you homeschool but I still welcome your thoughts. We have already had our ups and down this year already. My son's calculator of $130.00 was stolen. Policeman acted like I'm nuts for having to ask about this seeing it wasn't registered. Daughter tells me much later she saw a kid with a gun in his pants. Asked her what she did she said run away. All I could ask of everyone is to say a prayer that Jeremy can get into the school with his program

Kids say the cutest things!
I just have to share this with all of you. Nathan is so funny! We were done dropping the kids off to school and Nathan saw some laundry hanging on the line outside. He said, mom look at that nice garage sale. This kid cracks me up!! Then there was the ugly time he was having a meltdown because he needed to take a nap and after a long time he finally settled down and said, Don't tell anyone that I threw a fit. Ahh, then there is Malachi. He likes to see how many times his mama can put him down only to cry again. The problem is mama doesn't have long enough arms to comfortably put him in the crib & if I lower the crib rails it makes too much noise to lock the rail in.
Forget it if he falls asleep in the car he usually wakes up to get into the house and if that doesn't happen someone is usually in his face trying to say hi. I think he is teething though.

What a week!!
Ah! I'm so glad that Ashley and Andrew made all their money for Texas. It was a very busy week this past week. It included taking my mom in for cataract surgery for the other eye, taking the kids to sell tickets, taking Andrew to work a job so he could make his Texas trip, talking to my mom & father-in-law about his diabetes. (He was mowing his grass 2 weeks ago and fell outside and was laying in the street and my mother-in-law didn't even know). Fixing their ceiling fan and trying to fix her kitchen table. The best thing was finally getting to go to church the kids were having some sick symptoms so that is why we weren't there. Getting to go back to church what a blessing! Getting to go to church in the morning and eating lunch and putting 1 baby and 1 little one to sleep and getting to take a nap myself. Wow priceless!! Now I debated about my nap believe me but, it was a very busy week so I decided it was okay. When I woke upI felt so much better. Malachi has been getting up 2 times in the night when he was only getting up once in the night. I think he is ready for some baby cereal. So after I woke up I thought to myself. Self this how one feels after a good rest. Then we went back to church. It is so wonderful to think your kids are in good hands and that you can rest in God's hands while they are gone. I pray that we can all have an attitude adjustment and change for the better!!

Can you help me?
On Mother's Day did anyone take pictures? I'm looking to get a picture of us dedicating Malachi to the Lord that day. Everyone was crazy that day and we don't have any pictures of this very special day. If you have any let me know and I will reimburse you. Thank you very much!

21st Anniversary
On June 6 we celebrated our 21st Anniversary. It was a busy day dropped the kids off at my in-laws in Berwyn. Went to get my hair done. Picked up Malachi and headed back home, was stuck in traffic (boy, did I wish I had a bottle of nail polish I would of had my finger nails done). Tried to get home early to do a few more things only to arrive and find Bruce came home early too!! Went to my favorite restaurant, Red Lobster. It was wonderful!

The race to sell tickets is on......
I'm so proud of Ashley she is determined to go and sell tickets today even if Andrew doesn't. I told my Ashley good job for getting out there to sell. Seems like Andrew was a little upset that Ashley didn't wait for him. Someone decided to get ready and get out there. Hmmmm.... wonder who that could be. $11.00 so far, better than nothing.

Good News
Tuesday's surgery went well with my mom for her cataract. It is really scary signing all those hospital papers, if you thought about it long enough you would just leave. So, it is comforting to know that God is in control and He will take care of it. Before the surgery we were talking and laughing together. I told my mom that I prayed for her. What a blessing to be able to take concerns and fears to the Lord. The whole time I thought about Trish and her surgery today. On Wednesday, I had to take my mom back to the doctor again so they could remove the patch. We went out to breakfast went to a couple of stores and had a nice time. Grandma & Grandpa Parker watched the babies. I guess God has a plan for all of us. On Wednesday, Grandma Parker told me Grandpa is refusing to take his insulin shots. I wonder why she didn't tell me on Tuesday? I had only planned to take my mom for the surgery on Tuesday and didn't know I would be coming back out there on Wednesday. So, she told me to pray for him. (which I did). He did not have any insulin for 3 days. So after I finished helping my mom I went back there to the Parker's. I told Grandpa Parker, do I have to hit you with a wet noodle? He seems to think the medicine isn't working because his levels are out of control right now. He wanted to wait a week before he took his medicine. I said I cannot have that. I said to him that you are the only Grandpa that Malachi, Nathan, Ashley and Andrew have left and the babies need to have a relationship with you. I'm sorry that you have diabetes. Then, I had to get ugly do you want to go blind? Do you want to be in a bad car accident or worse yet hurt someone else when you are driving? So, he didn't like it but she took a blood sample it was 538. That is a little high. See the medicine is working because that is high. I hated to see if he waited a week. I told him if he goes in the hospital they won't let me take the babies up there to see him. So, she was also able to give him his insulin after a 3 day strike. I'm glad God was able to use me to help out. It is a great feeling knowing that I could help encourage them along the journey of life. So, with kisses and hugs I had to leave to get the teenagers from school.

Our Big Savings
Saturday was a fun filled day. The teenagers went to teen rally. Bruce & I went to the little red school house with the little ones. On the way home we were talking about how we want to fix the backyard up. We went pass a garage sale & he asked if I wanted to stop. Of course I said yes. Right in front was this swing set. It on sale at Menards for $569.00 this week and we didn't pay that price! God is sooo good to us. I always wanted a swing set for the other kids but, we never purchased one. It is so surreal to see these things come to pass. Then later on Ashley had a choir concert that we attended. I'm thankful for teenagers, little ones and a husband that will work Mon.-Fri. and will work extra jobs so we can do extra things.

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. That Saturday before Mother's Day I worked and worked wiping down my dining room and kitchen floor. It had been a while to get that deep down dirt up and my mother&father-in-law were coming over for Mother's Day. I really enjoyed cleaning, Daddy had Nathan and Ashley and Andrew were out. Malachi did a pretty good job of sleeping(thank you Jesus) so, I just kept cleaning. On Mother's Day I received a very special gifts; some roses and a GPS. I couldn't believe it a GPS, I know what you are thinking it is one of those things people really don't need. I think that way too, but if you knew how many field trips that I take you would really understand. (My kids don't think those field trips are fun) I always tell my kids we are on a field trip when I am lost. Now I just have to figure that thing out. It's no fun being turned around and then you are lost. Please pray for my mom (Judy) today I get to take her to the doctor for some testing. Tuesday she is schedule for catract surgery. Hopefully in the process she will be able to get to see Malachi today (she still hasn't seen him yet) & don't forget to pray about the teen rally for Saturday. Pray that Ashley will be able to get some friends to come. Thanks for all your prayers. Have a great day!

Yesterday I tried to do grocery shopping with my two babies and thought well made it to the store and put the groceries in the shopping cart and made it home success! Only to get home and put a few of the groceries away and bring the kids in. Went back to get a few more groceries only to find out my dear darling 2yr old decided to lock the door and my keys were on the counter. Well thank goodness my neighbor was outside so I could use her phone and was able to call my sister who had a key to my house. Thank You Jesus that my kids were ok. So, everyone with little children be careful when you bring groceries into the house. (By the way this was the first time he touched the door lock). One day this will be a funny story! My neighbor said her kids did the same thing. I was among friends. Ha, Ha

Hi, everyone its been an interesting week around here. Teenagers and friendships wow this is a hard subject. Do I let this person hang out with this person? Do I let them go here or go there? Do I pray while they are gone? Of course I do! It is really hard letting go even if its a little. You want to protect your kids so much. You don't want them to have any bad experiences you want them to stay pure until they are married. You try to love them although they think you are out to ruin there fun. You want them to grow up to be mature. Sometimes you have to let go even if its a little and come up with some alternatives. I'm thankful that God has given me some ideas and pray that I can follow through with some of those. Wow teenagers and babies what a combination. Talk about finding the right balance? What a challenge!!
